(SDHCAI) is a planning and program design firm comprised of contract consultants with honed skills on resource allocation of assets within an institutional environment. Over the last five years, SDHCAI has been involved with the writing and preparation of successful Requests for Proposals ( RFPs) related to various aspects of the health care setting including: the preparation of RFPs to CCAC on nursing services, or personal care workers, and an RFP to the Ottawa General Hospital for rehabilitation services on behalf of clients. Varied facility planning experience acquired over twenty years, has provided a professional expertise in the organization of asset control management. Previous projects have addressed the planning and equipment lay out of several departments associated within institutions, assuring that an in-depth line by line equipment review is undertaken and accurately catalogued.
Projects undertaken in Ottawa have ranged from the design of a renal dialysis unit in a 500 bed acute care hospital to experience addressing the organization of asset control, when working on a project with Consulting and Audit Canada, designing office space and equipment /computer design planning. At project termination, a final list of on-site equipment was generated to compare, contrast, and track location, for number of items, serviceability, and lifespan of equipment. A subsequent materiels management facility maintenance 5 year plan was delineated.
Previous Alberta projects addressed budget and resource allocation of health care equipment or allocation for sheltered workshops related to provincial equipment dollar issues in addition to specific institutional concerns. The procurement of the most qualified and accurate bids for special pieces of equipment assets within allocated annual provincial budget constraints was an achievement recognized by the Executive Branch of the Alberta Hospital Department.
In addition to project management contracts, SDHCAI has been very successful in acting as a disability advocate for clients involved with WSIB, private insurance, and CPP/QPP. Having a medical background as a registered nurse, is a great asset in determining which type of specialist is most helpful to a disability claim.
